Victory Revival Ministries

Victory Revival Ministries (VRM) is a Christian Non-Profit making Non Governmental Organisation with a focus on Evangelisation and Development of a human person and the communities. This organisation was founded in 1992 and has two branches found in the districts of Lira and Katakwi with the Head office in Kampala.

Victory Revival Ministries has a 2 pronged approach to the welfare of a human person namely Evangelism and development

  1. Evangelisation

The Evangelisation Programme was for a long time the main emphasis of the NGO were focused on

    1. Spreading the Good News of our Lord Jesus Christ
    2. Establishing Local Churches
    3. Training Church Leaders

As a result of this effort, Churches in Soroti, Katakwi and Kampala (Holy Ghost Revival Centre) have been established.

  1. Development Work

Since its inception until about 1997, the organisation was mainly involved in relief and emergency work with little on development. In the period, the following were established;

    1. Between 1992 and 1995, distribution of relief items such as clothes, blankets and food to displaced people in Soroti and Katakwi with financial assistance and support from friends. Orphans were sponsored Primary education.
    2. Cassava multiplication supported by Action for Widows. This project was aimed at the multiplication of a cassava variety resistant to the mosaic after the mosaic had destroyed whole food stock. A total of 6 acres of cassava were planted at a multiplication centre to the benefit of widows in supported areas.

      Tree planting; 1800 eucalyptus trees were planted only to be burnt later by the Karimojongs.

    3. Between 1996 and 1997, the organisation was involved in a water and sanitation programme supported by World Bank through the Directorate of Health Services in the District. This project had 2 bore-holes sunk and installed, 3 pit latrines sunk and constructed, sanitation promotion in schools, malaria control programme where 5000 mosquito nets were distributed in camps, HIV/AIDS sensitisation. Emergency water supply and sensitisation of sanitation and hygiene by WaterAid in 1996 for displaced communities in Katakwi town councils. HIV/AIDS sensitisation of people in camps of internally displaced people supported by ACTIONAID.
    4. Beginning April 1998 WaterAid started supporting a more focussed community development work on integrated water, sanitation and hygiene. The following has been achieved out of the partnership with WaterAid;
    1. Construction of 37 shallow wells benefiting 10,000 people
    2. Sanitation promotion which directly let to construction of latrines in 30 homes
    3. Hygiene education which targeted 50 villages and schools etc
Though the organisation meets a lot of challenges administration and implementation the Lord has enabled us meet success in a number of things
